Axiom Sourced a new Global Network (“NaaS”) for the World Leader in Softdrink Sales

Axiom’s client, “The Soft Drink Company” (“TSDC”), had a global MPLS Network provided as a service by Kyndryl (formerly IBM). The Client was dissatisfied with the cost, bandwidth, and performance of that network solution.

The client explored other options and ultimately selected Axiom, in partnership with NTT, to become its new global provider of “Network as a Service” (or “NaaS”).  The new network sourced by Axiom was to be a Software Defined Network (“SDN”) using Palo Alto devices managed by NTT.

Axiom worked very closely with the Client’s purchasing and technology leadership to accomplish several goals:

Previous slide

Goal One

Transfer service ownership from Kyndryl to the Client, “TSDC”.

  • Axiom worked with the Client’s Purchasing leader and existing vendors to:
    • Negotiate new Master Services Agreements (“MSAs”)
      • Axiom has been negotiating telecom carrier contracts since 2004
  • Successfully complete the Transfer of services from Kyndryl to the Client (“TSDC”)

Goal Two

Execute a global mini-RFP to evaluate new providers through network analytics

  • Axiom defined a subgroup of service locations that were sent to four potential new vendors.
  • Each global vendor provided a detailed response including pricing, speeds, technology, and local access vendors.
  • Axiom worked with the Client to determine which Carrier/Vendors had submitted successful responses

Axiom provided assurance services to ensure that appropriate contracting was complete, and assisted with the definition of the process by which new orders would be placed.

Goal Three

Assured Network Diversity

  • A key goal of TSDC was to assure maximum network diversity.  This meant that Axiom had to assure that each method of delivering service to TSDC’s global sites overlapped minimally with each other method of delivery (or “access”).  To do so, Axiom had to perform a network audit and carefully review each segment of the delivered network in the context of the rest of the services delivered to each site.

Goal Four

Complete the transition within three years

  • The Client’s highly motivated Technology and Purchasing Leadership enabled Axiom to complete 98% of the project within 18 months.

Goal Five

Service Assurance: Successful delivery of the new Network.

  • Axiom worked hand-in-hand with the team ordering and delivering services to assure that TSDC’s expectations and delivery goals were met.

The Coca-Cola Company partnered with NTT and Axiom in the delivery of a new, global SD-WAN network covering hundreds of locations. Axiom supported Coca-Cola’s Sourcing leader in contract negotiations with our vendors and procured multiple quotes for each site. The Axiom team is knowledgeable, diligent, and professional – I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Axiom works hand-in-hand with our Revenue Assurance team to deliver outstanding results. In our first 12 months with Axiom, we were able to add an 8-figure amount to gross profit through a range of audits. Most impressive was Axiom’s ability to deliver high-quality resources who could ingest volumes of telecom data and contacts and quickly distill opportunities to boost revenue.

Education Networks of America (“ENA”) hired Axiom to conduct a Margin Assurance audit prior to our acquisition by Zayo. The Axiom team worked closely with ours and added millions to our bottom line… it was an easy decision to use Axiom, they have deep expertise, and their contingency billing model makes it a nearly risk-free effort.

Axiom completed an extensive audit of our service profitability, helping to add millions in gross profit. Their team functioned as an integrated part of our organization, working directly with TPx staff. We also hired Axiom to provide augmented staff to support our internal teams with the migration of tens of thousands of TDM lines. They’ve been a great partner, and we look forward to continuing our work with them in the future.
