Axiom Reduces Telecom/Data Network Cost by 50% for a $19B US-based Alcohol Distributor Through Telecom Expense Audit
The largest distributor of beer, wine, and spirits in the United States selected Axiom for a telecom expense audit of its network cost. The Client had approximately 250 locations across the country, including warehouses, offices, data centers, and other corporate locations.

Axiom used the client’s vendor invoices and web portals, along with client records to construct an inventory of each billed service per site.
Once the service inventory was built, Axiom worked with the client’s vendors to tag and test each service — in other words to assure that each line to the client’s site was labeled and to validate that it was able to carry a signal.
After working with vendors to test and tag each service, Axiom worked with client’s on-site staff (often via video call) to physically trace the lines and necessity of key services, some of which were found to be not connected to anything at all, and sometimes more than 20 years old.

With a complete view of the in-use services and those that were no longer necessary, Axiom worked with client staff to submit disconnect orders for those legacy services no longer in use, and to submit orders for new services to replace those that were on unfavorable contracts.
Roughly 1 year after the telecom expense audit, Axiom had reduced the client’s spend on telecom and data network from $1M/month to $500k/month.
